In the wake of gold diggers

This is horseback riding to one of the most beautiful place of the Baikal region - the Barguzin valley. You will get acquainted with the history and culture, customs and way of living of Buryat`s horse wrangler and Evenk`s reindeer-breeder and take a trip in the wake of gold diggers in Transbaikalia.

1st day: Ulan-Ude - Ivolginsky Datsan - Buryat village
Arrival in Ulan-Ude. After breakfast a guided city tour. Visit to the History Museum. Excursion to the Ivolginsky Datsan, the most important Buddhist temple in Russia (40 km from Ulan-Ude). Visit to the Buryat village to enjoy folklore entertainment and traditional Buryat dinner. Return to the hotel. (B,L,D)
2nd day: Ulan-Ude - Barguzin - Kurumkan
After breakfast drive to the Kurumkan settlement (415 km). Lunch in the Barguzin settlement. Sightseeing of Barguzin. Visit to the Local Lore museum. Arrival in Kurumkan. Accommodation at local hotel. (B,L,D)
3rd day: Kurumkan - Arsgun - Garga
After breakfast visit the Buddhist temple. Drive to the Arsgun village (52 km). Visit to the museum of village. Lunch in the family of horse wrangler. Meet horses and preparation. Start horseback riding from Arsgun village to Garga mineral springs. Cooking on campfire. Overnight in tents. (B,L,D)
4th day: Garga - Marekta - Pod-Ikat
Continue riding Marekta and Pod-Ikat places. Free time to explore. Cooking on campfire. Overnight in tents. (B,L,D)
5th day: Pod-Ikat - Ikatsky pass - Karatala - Karaftit
After breakfast to cross the Ikatsky pass. Visit the Evenks` nomads` camp in Karatala place. A great opportunity to get acquaintance with customs and way of living of Evenks. Riding to the Karaftit settlement. Cooking on campfire. Overnight in tents. (B,L,D)
6th-7th day: Surroundings of Karaftit
Sightseeing. A great opportunity to try to wash gold in an old way. Cooking on campfire. Overnight in tents. (B,L,D)
8th-9th day: Karaftit - Karatala - Ikatsky pass - Pod-Ikat - Marekta - Garga
Return to Garga mineral springs. Cooking on campfire. Overnight in tents. (B,L,D)
10th day: Garga - Podulug - Tungen - Kurumkan
Continue riding to Podulug and Tungen places. A great opportunity to get acquaintance with the old way of distilling of Buryats’ milkvodka, and traditional music instruments. Visit the place of digging for amberat. Drive to the Kurumkan settlement (52 km). Accommodation at hotel. (B,L,D
11th day: Kurumkan - Yarikto - Ulan-Ude
After breakfast drive to Ulan-Ude (415 km). By the way visit to the sacral place “Yanzhima” near to the Yarikto settlement. Accommodation at hotel in Ulan-Ude. (B,L,D)
