By the highway from Irkutsk (68 km), this in Russian is called "Baikalskiy tract", you arrival Listvyanka settlement. The Institute has the Baikal Limnology Museum, where you will learn much about the origin of the lake, historical investigations, the surrounding area (maps, the samples of rock and minerals, flora and fauna). There is a wide range of activities available in Listvyanka. It` possible to rent a mountain bike or horses for the whole day, to go for a rafting trip, or just to walk along the shore of Baikal.
